How I work

I came to photography sideways, through music, jewellery and painting, and picked up a camera properly in college. The psychology degrees turned out to be the useful part: most of this job is reading a room, spotting what is about to happen, and being pointed the right way before it does.

What I want is the day as it really went. The grand bits and the small ones, the speeches and whatever your uncle does during them. I edit for colour rather than fashion, so these will still look like your wedding in twenty years instead of looking like the year you got married.

Everyone is welcome in front of my camera, whoever you are and whoever you love. Rain, delays and plans falling apart are all fine too. They usually make better pictures than the schedule would have.

Outside of work you will find me halfway through a project on a hundred-year-old house, chasing a very fast toddler, and wearing at least some of whatever I last painted.
